Enjoy a fine day in the beautiful island of Crete discovering the Cretan traditions in a small group of 6-8 persons in each premium expedition vehicle. Our day trip safari to the depths of the Cretan culture begins with a visit to the Terra Creta olive mill and then the Karavitakis winery for an informative tour and a mouthwatering wine tasting experience unraveling the secrets of high longevity in Crete! Then we head to the village of Ano Vouves to marvel up close the ancient olive tree which is 3000 years old and learn about the history of olives. Working up an appetite we arrive at a small village tavern in Panethimos, where we will introduce you to the Cretan cuisine with plenty of local food and wine and let you feel the very essence of the renowned Cretan hospitality. On the way up to Mesavlia we cross a gorge with a picturesque creek nestled amongst lush vegetation. There, on our way through the gorge we will have plenty of opportunities to take photos of picturesque chapels, sheep, goats, sprawling vineyards and gorgeous olive groves. On the way back we will pass through the historical Cretan villages of Kakopetros, Dromonero and Voukolies before we reach Chania town.

Don’t Forget

Don’t forget your comfortable shoes, for example, trekking shoes or sandals, camera, sun protection, etc. During spring and autumn, we advise you to bring a jacket. The Trip is not recommended to people suffering from car sickness, have mobility or kinetic problems or back problems or pregnant or for children younger than 7 years old as we don’t provide baby seats or people taller than 1,95cm or heavier than 130 Kg. Alcohol consumption is not allowed to minors under the age of 18 years old. The tour operator reserves the right to make minor changes in the program when considered necessary. If a tour is cancelled due to insufficient participants or adverse weather conditions, the tour operator will refund 100% of made payments.

The trip is ideal for everyone who´s looking for an experience beyond the ordinary, youth groups, single or couple participants, families with older children, and companies. The trip has guided stops every 30-40 minutes, for everyone´s convenience. In order for the tour operator to arrange lunch with vegetarian alternatives, information is required upon reservation. This also counts for any kind of food allergies, so as to find possible alternatives if possible.
